SUMMER BREAK 2025VORTEX is taking a little siesta…
As we come up on the end of our fifth year, it’s become clear that a small seasonal pause is not only necessary, it’s long overdue.
July is officially a quiet month. There’ll be no weekly e-blasts, no event listing updates, and no OLO goss (I don’t care if Ben Harvey runs naked down Ojai Avenue during the July 4th parade). We’ll be slowly resuming a few things in August and September — maybe the calendar, maybe a little longform — but the idea is to return with sharper focus, a cleaner backend, and maybe even a little more help (consider this our cry for it).
We know taking a break is a risk. But VORTEX isn’t a burnout project. It’s a passion project. And we want it to last.
Instead of letting the homepage gather dust, we’re sharing all eighteen editor letters from the past five years. It’s a time capsule of VORTEX seasons, shifts, and surprises.
