Prom Closet

Art Direction by Serena Cornell

It's that time of year, my friends — PROM SEASON!

The Nordhoff Prom is just around the corner, and this year's theme is none other than the enchanting "Midsummer Night." Can you feel the magic already?

We all know that finding the perfect prom outfit can be a hassle and a half, but worry not! Prom Closet at Nordhoff High School has got your back. This treasure trove is located right on campus at the Wellness Center and is open for "shopping" daily through lunchtime. It's stocked to the brim with gorgeous dresses, stunning jewelry, and fabulous shoes — everything you need to create a prom look that'll have all eyes on you. And the cherry on top? It's all donated by the community, so it's completely free! Yes, you heard that right — FREE. It's like winning the prom lottery!

Check out some of the looks we found in the Prom Closet:

Prom Closet is still on the lookout for more donations, especially for our handsome fellas. So, if you have any tuxedos, suits, ties, or shoes lying around, donate them to Prom Closet and help a student look like a million bucks on prom night. Let's all pitch in and make sure everyone feels like royalty!

Donating is easy — simply drop off your items at the Administrative Offices of Nordhoff. Have questions? Contact the fabulous Bronwen Cull-Michels at bcull@ojaiusd.org.

Come on, let's spread some prom love!

The prom closet is a partnership of Ojai Family Fund and Nordhoff High, operated by the high school.

Ojai Family Fund is a 100% volunteer-based 501c3 working to provide equities in access to education and enrichment and supporting the ongoing health and wellness needs of OUSD students and families. They work directly with Ojai Unified staff to identify students who need a little extra support, like supplementing the cost of Catalina Island Marine Institute, AP testing fees, and prom wear, for instance. Support is provided in a thoughtful way and with discretion.

Thanks to Julie Branaman from Ojai Family Fund and extra special thanks to Shannon from Runs Like a Top Vintage Shop in Meiners Oaks. Check 'em out for more retro Prom goodness.
